The Pledge of Allegiance
"I pledge allegiance to the flag
of the United States of America
and to the Republic for which it stands,
one Nation under God,
indivisible,
with liberty
and justice for all."
The manner of delivery:
The pledge should be rendered by standing at
attention facing the flag with the right hand over the heart.
When not in uniform men should remove their headdress
with their right hand and hold it at the left shoulder,
the hand being over the heart.
Persons in uniform should remain silent,
face the flag, and render the military salute.

America the Beautiful
by Katharine Lee Bates
O beautiful for spacious skies,
For amber waves of grain,
For purple mountain majesties
Above the fruited plain!
America! America!
God shed his grace on thee
And crown thy good with brotherhood
From sea to shining sea!
O beautiful for pilgrim feet
Whose stern impassioned - stress
A thoroughfare for freedom beat
Across the wilderness!
America! America!
God mend thine every flaw,
Confirm thy soul in self-control,
Thy liberty in law!
