The Story...

Oh God, here we go. This is supposed to be the biggest section on the page because it tells how all of us became such good friends & how we merged together as a band and became one. So, I guess I better do it.

It all started in a little town of Erie, PA. We were all youngsters at the ripe age of 13 or 14 & all of the sudden (like a freight train) POW! WHACK! BAM! BOOM! "Let's start a band!" We still didn't know each other that well at that time. I just started to get along with Eric & Derek. John was just a faded person in the background that i rarely talked to. But, then (like a freight train)(skip the sounds) Derek mentioned that his dad had a guitar & probably would let him have it. Since, I already had a guitar for a while, I thought I was pretty cool. John & Eric still didnt have their instruments so we were lost. Instead, Derek & I would take turns goin to each other's house on the weekend to try to make up some kickass guitar riffs & hopefully som lyrics (that didn't really work) But then, (like a freight train)(hehe) John got his crappy-ass bass from his Uncle & a very powerful amp (It wasnt so crappy when he got it) So, Derek & I got to know John better because well...he had a bass. This is when we started getting serious about figuring out songs & schedules of practices and such. Then after a long...long...long...wait, Eric (like a freight train)(here we go again) got his drums, pride & all. It was like Christmas, but it was in the spring. Anyway, We had our first practice, sometime in the middle of May of '97. It was cool. We video taped basically the whole thing. We already had about 2 songs down pat (1 we thre away). "Where's Blue?" was the second song actually. "The Song Before Derek got Here" was the first. Then, we had the idea that we had to pick a music type to play (that didn't work out) It was either a punk band or a hardcore band. Neither worked out. So, we picked our very favorite music Grunge/Alternative. Yeah, that was the way to go. One flaw (there are no grunge bands in Erie) But, that worked out alright because we were Erie's only grunge band that played their own music AND we were the youngest band in the whole city. At the ages of 14 to 15. Oh yeah, we were on top of the world. BUT then (like a freight train)(man this is getting tiring) COPS. Yes, those awful guys should be fighting crime not bustin teenages ass for playin music loud. Anyway, that was pretty much our only obstacle besides finding a place to practice. So here we are today, got a demo comin out and doing fine (besides our grades) Who knows what will become of good ol' DY maybe something good maybe something bad...Only time will tell...Stay tuned...
