On a nice night to play ball, the Phillies and Cardinals battled back and forth right up until the darkness set in. Both teams had timely hitting and solid pitching performances from the starters. In the end, the Cards rallied for 5 runs in the bottom of the 5th to win 9-8. For the Phillies, Philip Caruso pitched 3 strong innings with excellent command.


Offensively, Jack Bateman went 3 for 3 with an RBI and 2 runs scored. For the Cardinals, Jack Edwards and Nick Corritore each pitched 3 innings against the tough Phillies lineup. Defensively, Jake Sherman made a nice catch at 2nd base to hold off a Phillies rally. Offensively, Tucker Kinne went 2 for 2 with 2 runs scored.
