Baker Printing defeated Plush Mills in a close game last night. Plush Mills pitcher Evan Cummings effectively mixed his speed and struck out Baker's 1st two hitters and had 2 strikes on Zak Summy before he connected on his 2nd HR of the year to give Baker an early 1-0 lead. Plush Mills responded with a run in the bottom of the inning thanks to a double from Evan Cummings. In the bottom of the 2nd, Kenny Jenson drove in 2 runs to give Plush Mills a 4-1 lead after 2 innings. Then Baker's bats came to life as they scored 6 runs thanks to doubles by Zane Walsh, Zak Summy, and Kevin Smith. Baker tacked on 2 more runs in the 4th with doubles by Malcolm Williams and Brian Virbitsky to take a 9-4 lead.

Plush Mills fought back in the bottom of the 4th scoring 3 runs thanks to triples by Tommy Bradley and Anthony Covello. Charlie Andress came into pitch the 5th and 6th inning for Plush Mills and shut down the Baker team while recording 4 strikouts. Brian Virbitsky came on in relief of Kevin Smith in the 5th for Baker and pitched a scoreless 5th inning. In the bottom of the 6th, Plush Mills mounted a final rally with Grahm Misko getting hit by a pitch and Charlie Andress reaching base on an error. Virbitsky settled in and retired 3 of the next 4 hitters and allowing only 1 run and preserved a hard fought 9-8 victory for Baker Printing. Next up for Baker is a rematch vs. undefeated Campbell's Boathouse on Thursday while Plush Mills will face Baker again on Saturday afternoon.
