AL Playoff Game 12

Pazulski Tile and Carpets    3
VantagePoint    3

Pazulski 3
Vantage 2

Two of the highest scoring teams in the regular season came into Friday night's game looking for a slugfest. What was supposed to be a slugfest turned into a pitcher's duel. Nate Rodgers started for Pazulski and pitched two strong innings to start the game, striking out five Vantage players in what was his best pitching performance of the year. Vantage's starting pitcher, Garrett Brunner, started strong as well and held Pazulski to one run through 2+ innings. Sean Bettenhausen came in relief and pitched great. Sean Bettenhausen came in relief and pitched great, but Vantage tied the game at 1 in the bottom of the 3rd. With the bases loaded and two outs in the bottom of the 3rd, Andrew Pak came in to end the scoring threat with a huge strikeout. Andrew led off the 4th inning with a walk which ended up leading to a 2 run 4th inning and a 3-1 Pazulski lead. Leo Burman settled in and kept Pazulski's bats silent from that point forward, striking out 8 batters total. The Pak-Man matched Leo's effort and struck out 8 of his own.

The game came down to the bottom of the 6th inning with Vantage down 3-2. Leo started off with a rope to left field. Nick Martini made a great play keeping Leo to a single. Andrew followed up with a huge strikeout then finished off the game catching a pop up for the 3rd out to end the game. Great game by all. Pazulski is resting up for its match-up against Quotations on Saturday morning.
