Media Little League wins First Two Games of Pennsylvania Tournament

Media Little League 9/10 year old team won their 1st two state playoff games in Newville, PA.

In game 1, Media defeated Lehigh Little League by a score of 5-4.


Nathan Furman held Lehigh scoreless through 3 innings, before leaving the game at 50 pitches. The score was tied at 1 in the top of the 5th when Lehigh took a 4-1 lead thanks to a 3 run home run. Media battled back in the bottom of the 5th to tie the game at 4.


The game was suspended at 12:10AM and play resumed at 10AM on Thursday. Max Brown retired the side in the top of the 6th. Media came to the plate and Johnny Francis knocked in Danny McLoughlin for the game winning run.

In game 2, Media defeated Collier Twp. by a score of 16-5 in four innings.


Tommy Bradley picked up the win for Media by getting 6 outs on a total of 13 pitches in the 3rd in 4th inning as Media's defense turned two double plays. Media's offense came to life in the 3rd and 4th inning as Leo Burman drove in a total of 7 runs with a 2 run double and a walk off grand slam to center field to seal the victory for Media in the bottom of the 4th. Nathan Furman and Brian Virbitsky both chipped in with 2 hits apiece and each scored 3 runs.

Media continues play against Redland Little League at 7:30 Friday
