ML Playoff Game 6

Moppert Brothers    6

Baker Printing    4

On this hottest day of the season (so far) Moppert and Baker suare off in this Losers Bracket match-up.  The pitching match-up of Donovan Davis (Moppert) and Nolan Dirienzi (Baker) featured to big 12 years olds.  Both pitched well with little offensive highlights to speak of until the top half of the 3rd inning when Bakers Nate Engleka drew a two out walk and then Bobby Ieradi and Nolan Dirienzi followed with consecutive base hit to push the games first run across. In the bottom of the 4th inning Moppert's Brendan Welsh led off with a single which set the stage for a dramatic 2 run HR by Colin McGuire.  Re-energized Moppert took that 2-1 lead into the 5th inning and held Baker despite a Nate Engleka double and and Bobby Ieradi single.  Moppert than expanded it's lead in the bottom of the 5th on a run scoring double by Colin McGuire and a 3 run HR by Kevin Bosco.  Down 6-1 Baker came back strong in the 6th innings with Danny Healey leading off with an HR.  Following a K Baker's next two batters walked.  One K later Jack Ribble knocked in both runners with a base hit closing the gap to 6-4 with Nate Engleka and Bobby Ieradi due up.  Engleka hit the ball hard to center field but Mopperts Peter Mamola was there to make the catch and preserve the victory.

Moppert and Hagan now square off in the Losers Bracket semi-finals on Tuesday afternoon.

Others with hits included Matt Divis, Jonah Skobeloff, Donovan Davis and Thomas Bacchia.
