AL Playoff Game 14

Patriot Construction    9

Ernest Bock and Sons    7

Patriot Construction is “Stayin’ Alive”

The ninth seeded Patriot Construction won their third playoff game in five days by defeating Bock and Sons 9-7 in American league playoff action.   Tyler Lashley pitched 5 strong innings for the Pats, giving up only 4 runs against a talented Bock line up.  Offensively the Pats had contributions up and down the lineup.  They were led by Big Luke Ciminera, James McConnon, Ben Wolters and Will Hotham.   Catcher Connor Daly threw out 3 Bock base stealers in the first five innings to limit the aggressive Bock running game.  David Moore played tremendous defense at second base all night as well.

The Pats were leading 7-4 in the top of the sixth inning when the game was suspended due to lightning.  The final inning was played on Wednesday night with the winner facing Young Carpentry in the semi final game.  With their pitching depleted, the Pats turned to Matt Quon, who took the hill for the first time all season.  Matt helped himself in the top of the inning with a base hit to knock in two big insurance runs.  In the bottom of the inning Matt participated in all three outs with a strike out, an assist and a put out, cutting short the come back by Bock.

Bock was led by the Tyler Vribitisky, Lou Lombardo, Brian Dougherty and Jake Branyan.

The underdog Pats won their fourth playoff game in five games and continued their surprising run through the playoffs.  As in their other four victories, it was team effort with contributions from Chad Cohen, Jaron Teegan-Case and Mike Doyle who consistently reached base and scored big runs for the Pats.  The rally cry for the Pat’s this season; “Win as a team and lose as a team”!
