Patriot Battles Back


In the battle of the builders, Patriot Construction defeated Wm. Young Carpentry 14-9, scoring 10 runs in the final two innings in a thrilling contest in the American league. 


The Patriots jumped out to an early two run lead in the first with a two out double by Luke Ciminera driving in Ben Wolters and James McConnon.  The Carpenters responded with five runs in the bottom of the inning.  They tacked on three more in the next two innings, lead by Brian Snow’s solo home run in deep left center field.  It was his third home run in two games against the Pats.


Patriot bats finally came alive in the 5th inning, scoring seven runs to climb back in the game.  The hits just kept coming for the Pats in the inning with seven players nailing base hits; singles by Chad Cohen, Michael Doyle and doubles by Will Hotham, Luke Ciminera, James McConnon, Tyler Lashley and Connor Daly who knocked in two runs to put the Pats up for good.


Pat’s pitcher Ben Wolters was able to keep the Carpenters powerful lineup in check, giving up only one run in two plus innings of relief work.  Big Luke Ciminera was an offensive machine going 4 for 4 with two big two out doubles driving in four runs.  David Moore and Jaron Teegan-Case also contributed to the Patriots third win of the season.


Offensively the Carpenters were led by Brian Snow and David Bettenhausen. Second baseman Cameron Ricciardi had tremendous night in the field with numerous assists and putouts during the contest.
