NL Playoff Game 1

Ernest Bock & Sons Red Sox   11

Lankenau Spine Center Yankees   10

In a very hard played game, the #8 seeded Yankees gave the #1 seeded Red Sox all they could handle.  The Red Sox squeaked out an 11-10 win to advance in the winners bracket.  Corey Ziring and Mike Kramer pitched well for the Red Sox holding the Yankees to 5 runs through 4 innings. Patrick O'Kane pitched 3 impressive innings for the Yankees hold the Red Sox to 5 runs.  The Yankees came to bat in the top of the 6th inning with the score at 11-10.  Kyle Virbitsky shook a tough 5th inning where he surrendered 5 runs to the Yankees and managed to hold the Yankees scoreless in the final inning.  The game ended with the tying run on 3rd and the go ahead run on 2nd.

The Red Sox were led in hitting by Jake Newsome (3 for 3, 2 runs, 1 RBI), Corey Ziring (3 for 3, 2 RBI's) and Aaron Brown with 3 RBI's.  The Yankees were helped at the plate by Connor Daly (2 hits, 2 RBI's), Chris Rushton (2 hits) and Peter Soloman who drove in 2 runs.  Based on the inspired play of the Yankees, they will surely be a tough task for any team that faces them in the next round.
