NL Game 10

Rockies  9

Athletics  5

Opening the game at pitcher for the Athletics was Daniel Crawford. Daniel was throwing hard and had three strike outs and allowed only one hit in that inning. Unfortunately, the Rockies scored 2 runs that inning.  In the bottom half of the inning the Athletics line-up shelling the Rockies with 4 hits and 4 walks in the first inning.  Starting it off for the As was Devlin Ward with a solid base hit. Followed up by base hits from Jake Scott, Daniel Crawford and Chad Cohen. With the addition of four walks the powerful Athletics scored 4 runs in the first inning.

However in the top of the second Mathew Quon starting his first game ever at pitcher allowed no hits and struck out the side.

In the third inning the Rockies put in 8 year old Mark Dombroski who was also making his first ever appearance on a pitchers mound. Mark had 5 strike outs in two innings and allowed only one run by a hard hit ball from Shane Wicker of the Athletics.

The big inning from the Rockies came in the top of the forth when big boy Alex Burman hit a monster shot to the right field fence. Additionally Tyler Widmann had a solid base hit.

Lastly special mention needs to go out to new comer to the league Nick Fender. Nick went 2 for 3 with both sharply hit .

This brings the Athletics record to 1-2 but they have solid nucleus of players and with some more work and game experience this bunch of boys will be ready for the playoffs.  The Rockies improve there record to 2-1 but play the tough undefeated Red Sox tomorrow.
