  1 2 3 4 5 R H E
Winners Circle Cubs 1 2 1 2 0 6 9 0
Haverford Trust Rockies 2 0 0 0 3 5 9 0

In a well pitched game by both teams, the Cubs were able to hold off a late inning rally by the Rockies to start the 2007 season with a win. Will Lochetto led the Cubs offense with two runs scored and two RBIís. He also pitched two strong innings with 5 Kís to pick up the first win of the season. Additional offense came from Angelo Lochetto ( 2 runs, 1 RBI), Julian Bonsall-Shepard (2 RBIís) while Howie Viguers drove in a run and Tommy Van Leer & Herbie Twiss each scored. Joey Cimino struck out nine; pitching two scoreless innings in relief and retiring the side with the tying run on 3rd to pick up the save.

The Rockies also benefited from strong pitching. Alex Burman and Nick Fender both struck out five, while Matthew Quon held the Cubs scoreless in the 5th inning to keep the game close. Alex Burman was strong at the plate, with three hits including an RBI double in the 5th. The Rockies exploded with three doubles to plate three runs in the last frame; but time was not on their side, as the game was called on account of darkness. The game was a great start to the season, with both teams giving it their all!
