In their third and final meeting of the regular season Campbellís Boathouse came out swinging hard against Bakerís Printing to jump out with an early lead then hold on for a 9-7 victory while pushing their winning streak to 3 in a row.
Taking the mound for Campbells was John Fender in the first 3 innings fanning 6 batters followed by Shane Williams who struck out 5. Williams also brought his bat to the park hitting 2 doubles and scoring twice, followed by Dan Grandieri with a double and a single, and John Fender, Eric Poynton, Christian Miller and Brian Treston all with singles.
Pitching for Bakerís was Nick Boleto (3 Kís) and John Robinson (5 Kís). Bakerís offensive charge was led by Cole Gamber who had a spectacular night with the bat smoking 2 home runs over the left-center fence and scoring 4 of Bakerís 7 runs. Adding to the hitting was Kellen Edmondson (double, single) and Bobby Ieradi and Joey Murray who each had a double.
Defensive play of the game was by Campbellís 3rd baseman John Ferruzzi who gloved a sharply hit grounder which jumped at the bag, bare-handed the ball and threw out the streaking Ieradi just in time.
