ML Game 10
Haganís Funeral Home 11
Baker Printing 0
Haganís Lays Down Second No-hitterÖ..But Wins This Time
Haganís Funeral Home got its second no-hit pitching performance of the season. Unlike the last time, Haganís also nabbed a win, beating previously-undefeated Baker Printing by an 11-0 score. Hunter Tierney turned in another dominating pitching performance. He went all 5 innings spreading out 5 walks and striking out 11. Tierney was backed by solid defense and plenty of run support. Once again, he helped his own cause with a towering 3-run blast over (way over!) the center field scoreboard in the top of the 5th inning. Haganís got run production from throughout their lineup. Six of Haganís 10 players (Brian Gross, John Owens, Tierney, Billy Ankrum, Bobby Juliana, and Neal Geosits) scored. Juliana was perfect at the plate, going 1 for 1 with 2 walks.
Bakerís best scoring opportunity came in the bottom of the 2nd inning. Bobby Ieradi led off with a walk. He advanced to 3rd base on two wild pitches. With nobody out, Tierney settled down and retired the next three batters, stranding Ieradi at 3rd base. Cole Gamber started the game on the mound for Baker. He surrendered only 2 hits and 4 walks, holding Haganís to 2 runs, but he was hurt by high pitch counts that forced him to leave after 3 innings. Nick Boleto finished the game in relief for Baker.
