ML Playoff Game 1

Haganís Funeral Home    9

Campbell's Boat House    3

Campbellís and Haganís opened the major league playoffs in a hard-fought battle. Haganís prevailed by a score of 9-3.

Campbellís brought seven batters to the plate in the first inning and appeared to be on the verge of a big opening inning before Hunter Tierney pitched out of a bases loaded jam, holding Campbellís to a single run. Eric Poynton and Shane Williams provided the hits for Campbellís. Haganís responded by bringing all nine batters to the plate and scoring 5 runs. The highlight was Julian Hellerís 3-run home run blast, his third of the year. That was all the scoring that Haganís would need as Hunter Tierney and John Owens combined to allow only two more runs the rest of the way. Meanwhile, Haganís offense tacked on one in the second, two in the third, and another in the fourth.

Campbellís offense was led by Poynton (2 for 4) and Williams (2 for 3, BB). Haganís was led by Brian Gross (2 for 3, HBP), Andy Kaiden (1 for 2, 2B, 2BB), and Beau DiFiore (1 for 2, 2BB).
