Well played games by both teams with the Marlins taking a quick 4 run lead with clutch hits by Samson, Virbitsky and Ziring.
Corey Ziring pitched three shutout innings for the Marlins. The cubs came back from a 4 run lead to tie the game in the 5th by clutch hitting by Andrew Haines and Nick Newman and key base running by Jake Branyon. The Cubs held the Marlins scoreless in the 6th and squeaked out a hit by Stephen McAlee who then stole second to be in scoring position. The Game winning hit came off the bat of Morgan McLean who was able to get Stephen home with a close play at the plate.
The Cubs squeaked a win out that could
have went either way.
