Timmy Quinn took the mound for the Marlins and was dominant through four innings. In each inning, Timmy got the first two batters out, the next two batters got on, then Timmy got the third out without yielding a single run. Jason McLarney got into early trouble in the first and loaded the bases before getting power hitter Michael Solomon to strike out. Two walks and two runs later, Jason ended up striking out the side. At the end of one, it was 2-0 Marlins.


In the second, after one walk, Jason McLarney again took control and shut down the Marlins offense by striking out the side. At the end of two, the score remained 2-0.


In the third, the Marlins bats came alive and pounded out five hits including an RBI single by Brian Snow. At the end of three, the score was 6-0 Marlins.


In the fourth, the Marlins continued the offensive by scoring four more on five hits including a bases loaded double by Corey Hansen.


In the fifth, pitcher William Manganiello picked up where Timmy Quinn left off. William walked the first batter. Dean Ward came up to the plate and hit a hard liner to Timmy Quinn at first, who speared it and quickly threw to Michael Solomon covering second for a major-league double play. Manganiello finished the inning with a strike out. The Marlins got one more in the bottom of the inning off Timmy Quinn's triple to the wall, scoring Matt Divis, who went 4 for 4 for the day. At the end of five, the score was 11-0 Marlins.


In the top of the sixth, the Braves threatened again, getting two runners on with two outs. Pitcher William Manganiello reared back and fired three strikes to end the game. Final score 11-0 Marlins.
