NL Game 16

HAP A's    14

Wilson Safe Rockies    10

After a rainout on Saturday, the HAP A's and Wilson Safe Rockies played on a dry, but chilly Sunday afternoon.  In the top of the first inning, the A's came out swinging.  Three consecutive doubles by Sean Myers, Ian McKernan, and Daniel Enterlin and a single by Ashton Raines gave the A's a 3-run advantage after a half-inning of play.  In the bottom of the first, the Rockies were held scoreless despite a double by Brian Koskinen.

The A's added another run in the second and three more in the third to go up 7-0.  But the game was far from over as the Rockies bats came to life in the bottom of the third.  The Rockies scored 5 runs on hits by James Hare, Ellis Driscoll, Seth Luck, Chris Smith, Brian Koskinen, and Jack Daly.

In the top of the 4th, the A's stormed back with 6 runs of their own.  Sam Naismith and Ian McKernan both singled and scored in the inning.  The Rockies collected 2 runs in the 4th with Matt McNichol and James Hare scoring runs.

The 5th inning was characterized by strong pitching performances from both teams.  Rockies pitcher Colin McGuire shut down the A's giving up no runs while striking out three.  A's pitcher Ian McKernan also struck out the side.  The Rockies managed to score one run in the inning.

The A's scored one final run in the sixth inning.  Rockies pitcher Jack Daly struck out one batter and had two assists in the inning.  In his first pitching appearance, Greyson Nelson struck out the first batter he faced.  The Rockies scored two runs before Ashton Raines and Daniel Enterlin retired the two batters they faced to end the game.

Offensively, the A's were led by Ian McKernan (4-5, 1 2B, 4 RBI, 2 R) and Daniel Enterlin (3-3, 1 2B, RBI, 3 R).  Brian Koskinen (3-3, 2 2B, 3 RBI, 2 R) and James Hare (2-3, 2 RBI, 2 R) led the Rockies.
