NL Game 1
The Spectrum Roofing Orioles got the first hit of the National League season on Matt McGraw's single in the first inning and then scored the first run of the season in the top of the third on an RBI single by Thomas Baccia.
In the top of the fourth, Sean Myers struck out two Oriole batters in pitching a scoreless inning for the HAP A's. The A's then scored 5 runs in the bottom of the fourth inning to take the lead. The Orioles countered with a run in the top of the fifth on an RBI single by Chris Skahill before A's pitcher Daniel Enterlin struck out the next three batters. In the bottom of the fifth, the A's scored 2 more runs on a two-run single by Jeff Gregg (who also made several key plays defensively for the A's). Despite giving up the clutch single by Gregg, Orioles pitcher John Flynn struck out 3 batters in the inning.
The Orioles scored 1 final run in the sixth on a single by Jack Keffer. A's
pitcher Ashton Raines closed out the game with three ground ball outs giving the
HAP A's their first win of the season.
