ML Game 40

Campbell's Boathouse    12

Baker's Printing    6

In an "All Hands On Deck" performance, Campbell's Boathouse beat the pressmen from Baker's Printing, 12 - 6.  Skipper Bob Tull, has the ship on an even keel headed for the playoffs.  The Boathouse team combined an strong offensive effort with key defense and a 6 inning complete game by pitcher Justin Brown.  Justin helped his own cause by going 2 for 3 with a HR that was crushed to dead center and 3 RBI's.  Also, keeping pace was Scott Ruchton who not only had 4 key put outs at 1st Base but kept pace with Justin by hitting his 2nd HR of the season to deep right center.  Ryan Myers and Joe McLaughlin' speed led off the effort each by adding 2 hits a piece.  There weren't enough game balls to hand out but also deserving were Colin Barker who had a timely single in the 6th to plate 2 runs and Jesse Tull getting a major league hit in the hole between shortstop and 3rd along with a number of key defensive plays.  Matt Rushton, who has been placed into action behind the plate (due to injury to Dan Henry, who is expected to return in time for the playoffs) was strong in handling Justin's effort.  Deadeye Ryan Carr managed 3 BB's and was on base all 4 times scoring once.  Mitch Engleka and Bob VanLeer, ( 2 of the strong Boathouse rookies - were strong defensively.  The Pressmen tried to keep pace with a strong 5 run inning in the 3rd which included a double by pitcher/1st baseman Kyle Wenner and a triple by Christian Martin.  The Boathouse sails again next Wednesday.
