AL Game 13

Fabian-Baber    9

Meenan Oil    2

In a game under constant threat of postponement due to inclement weather, Fabian-Baber battled with Meenan Oil for their first meeting this season, playing on through two rain showers, and emerged victorious to win 9-2 in 6 well-played innings by both sides.

Pitching for Meenan Oil, Jacob Day shut down the first 3 FBI batters he faced in the top of the 1st inning.  Not to be outdone, Dan Furman took the mound for Fabian-Baber and methodically struck out his first 3 batters.  The 2nd inning broke open the game when Fabian-Baber scored 5 runs on singles from Kevin McGravey, Nick Strong, Dan Furman and Ryan Bradley.  Meenan Oil responded with 2 runs in the bottom of the 2nd, but those would prove to be their final trips across home plate as Furmanís excellent pitching was followed by the strong arm of Kevin McGarvey who shut out the Oilers in his 3 innings on the mound.  With 15 strikeouts between them in the game, the Furman-McGarvey combination might as easily describe a professional lawn service given the way they mow down batters.

Nick Boleto replaced Day on the mound for Meenan and pitched 2 innings of shutout ball until running into trouble in the top of the 6th when he gave up lead-off walks to Rowan Baber and Nick Strong and then hit Nabeel Minhaj in the leg on an inside fast ball. Boleto then managed to pop-up Furman at the plate and double off Strong who was on second.  But then Ryan and Connor Bradley blew out the candles with a single and triple respectively that drove in the remaining runs and yielded the final score of 9-2.

Winning pitcher was Dan Furman with the save going to Kevin McGarvey.
