Kish Funeral    5

Opening Day 2005 saw Media Little League unveil itís newest jewel to itís state of the art complex by opening the new field for the American League division.  The game lived up to its billing and turned into a thriller for the ages. The new diamond which will become known as Fred Dotts field saw Gardner/Fox Associates (GFA) defeat Kish Funeral Home (KFH) by a score of 8-5.

Kish jumped all over GFA in the first inning with 4 runs lead by a base clearing shot from the bat of Brian Mizell (1-2 2-rbi, 2-BB), Mizell later scored in the frame.  KFH was also the recipient of great pitching lead by Josh Banister who held GFA to 1 run in the first and 2-runs in the third.  The game stayed 4-3 with KFH leading through the bottom of the fifth when GFA was able to push across 5 runs lead by clutch hitting from Andy Kaiden (1-3, 2-rbi).  With runners at 2nd and 3rd, Andy delivered a bases clearing triple which put GFA ahead by one, later that same inning GFA was able to send 4 more runs across the plate to take what was a commanding 4-run lead.  In the top of the fifth GFA sent ace pitcher Brian Goss to close the game and after a few minor scares, GFA shut down KFH.

Game Balls for GFA went to Andy Kaiden and Tommy Haley.
