Congratulations to Taney Dragons!
Congrats to the
Dragons on making it all the way from the District 19 Tourney to
the Little League World Series in Williamsport, PA!
Although the Philadelphia-based Dragons fell three wins shy of their ultimate goal, they ended their scintillating summer season as the No. 3 team in the U.S.!
Along the way to the LLWS, Taney captured the District 19, Section 8, Pennsylvania and Mid-Atlantic championships.
For those who might not know, the Dragons' phenomenal run began in the opening round of the District 19 Tourney on Saturday, June 28, at Media Little League. On that day, Taney outslugged Media, 12-10. With that in mind, MLL players, coaches, families and friends can take great pride in this fact: Media is one of only two teams to have scored 10 runs - and one of only three squads to have plated more than six runs - in a game against the Dragons this summer. (During the PA state tourney, Collier Township lost, 13-10, won, 7-2, and lost, 6-4, in three matchups with Taney. Mountain Ridge, NV, which beat the Dragons, 8-1, in the U.S. winners' bracket final, is the only other team that tallied more than six runs against them.)
After surviving its first-round battle with Media, Taney came back to win two more District 19 Tourney games at Media Little League: a 10-0 victory over Drexel Hill on Tuesday, July 1, and a 2-1, district-title-clinching triumph over South Marple on Monday, July 7.
More than a month and a half after their incredible summer journey began at MLL, the Dragons played in front of monstrous crowds in Williamsport. Among the 34,128 fans reported to have been in attendance at the U.S. winners' bracket final on Wednesday, Aug. 20, was a large contingent of MLL players, coaches, families and friends who unabashedly and loudly rooted for the Mid-Atlantic champs from District 19.
Thank you, Taney, for taking Media Little League and the rest of the Philadelphia area on an awesome ride this summer!

Geographic Boundaries (Now some areas of Springfield and if School in our Boundary)
Anyone living in:Media Borough, Upper Providence, Nether Providence, Brookhaven Borough, Wallingford, Rose Valley and now parts of Springfield. We are excited because for the first time in Little League’s existence, children who live outside our boundaries, will now be able to play if their school is within our boundary.
