The Point: Our Savior.
The Message: He was born so He could die, but rose up over death so we would not be stranded. As we're looking back in time, we see the perfect sacrifice. Satan's slick as blackened ice, but the way to Heaven is that of Christ.
The Scoop: Everyone should know the story of Jesus. Even those who know it completely should hear it again. He was our perfect example. With everything He did, He remained faithful to God. After showing us how we should live, He took the ultimate penalty for sin upon Himself. He was beaten and bruised for the sins that we committed. And by the blood that He shed, we are now forgiven and cleansed. Free to enjoy perfect peace, health and happiness in Him.
The Tale: The song starts from the birth of Christ in a stable in Bethlehem and tells about Him growing up, how He influenced others and pointed the way. He was baptized then tempted in the wilderness, but He remained true. He took the cross upon Himself to pay for our sins, then rose up over death and ascended to the Father. he may not be here now in bodily form, but His Spirit is with us each day, guiding us. We have that awesome gift for free! And to all who obey Him and remain faithful, a place in Heaven awaits. Someday He will come and take all those who still trust Him for everything.
The Idea: Every complete story needs a beginning. The very base for our faith and our convictions is the life of Jesus on the earth. This was the last song that I wrote for Crossed Out, but very necessary for anyone listening who doesn't know the work that Jesus did on this earth. Some might only know about a star over Bethlehem, and a Man hanging on a cross. This is the whole story.
