Crossed Out

The Point: Overcoming opposition.

The Message: "The world rises up in an all-time fury, but I will still stand and give God the glory!"

The Scoop: Now at the end of the world, Satan tries harder than ever to get everyone to fall away from God. He knows the time has come so he's trying in every way to deceive us. More and more people fall away each day. Society decays and common malice reigns. The people of today who are under the control of Satan act as his agents and try to bring down all who are of the faith. They hate to see any real love for God. Their own love is gone, and they want the whole world to suffer with them. Crossed Out is a song about the people of today and their hate for true life. For every Christian, there is a day when we have to make a decision... to follow God or go the way of the world, down a long wide path that leads to destruction. For all who remain committed, they are despised and rejected, just as their Lord Jesus was. Yet in their suffering, they remain joyful knowing the prize that is before them.

The Tale: Crossed Out is told from my point of view, noting the sufferings that come upon me daily because I do not bow with the world. The song encourages all true Christians to stand up for Jesus, even through the turmoil the world brings on us. Remember that it is for the testing of our faith that we even came into this world. Satan wants us X-ed out... but Jesus wants us to be Crossed Out.

The Idea: This song was written because every day, in some way, I am picked on, laughed at, or left out. Each and evey day going to school was a struggle because of people calling myself and my friends names, jeering at us, etc. And even now, I am ridiculed because I desire to stay pure until married, something that the world things is absolutely absurd. But as the lyrics say, "Better to be crossed out than joining hands with this lost town, brought down eternally!"
