Judge Not 3 6 02
Verse 1
Yo. - Who died
and me referee?
No one. So if I have a problem with your actions, I'll let it
be
Cause the last commandment from the Lord was to love ya
And indeed you're my brother, so why should I judge ya?
It's not our job,
but a Judge who is annointed
Will judge the whole earth, that's the job He's appointed
And upon His decision, the defendants are choiceless
So instead of back-biting, let's try living voiceless.
When we pick up
the stones and lift up our arms
Do we think about how they will soon suffer harm?
Are we hiding our guilt? And afraid the curse shows?
"If you've never sinned, you may throw the first stone."
But instead the
stone drops, also our eyes and head
With just that one statement, we realize our debt
The people we know are our life companions
We should see past the faults and give away more "Thank ya's."
We know better
than vengeance, which comes after the sentence
So why start judging if we're not gonna end it?
Now see the defendants, not all are repentant
Let's forgive them all anyway, and end all the tension!
Chorus
Judge not - judge
not - no more taking mug shots
We're all in this together, and judging is a rough spot.
No more criticism, let's give out lots of hugs
If we judge not, then we shall not be judged.
Verse 2
Writing this album
doesn't make me a super Christian
I'm just a human, listen, I still sin, do ya get it?
I'd like to just bark orders, but I'm turning into Solomon
Make rules but don't follow them, and so I'm duckin' like the
Taliban.
I could probably
spend all day trashing myself
And I know the penalty for sins is thrashing in hell
And maybe spend a million years taking lashings from belts
Not much else to do but teeth-gnashing and yelps.
But I keep pressing
on and the Lord's my defense
I pray He removes this thorn in my flesh
And help me get by though I'm not the type of guy
To lay aside the battle, and let the Lord win the fight.
Don't worry about
tomorrow, it has enough troubles of its own
Don't criticize my problems when you got problems of your own
We're all in this together, how many times can I stress it?
Let's all rejoice together for we surely are all blessed!
Chorus
Judge not - judge
not - no more taking mug shots
We're all in this together, and judging is a rough spot.
No more criticism, let's give out lots of hugs
If we judge not, then we shall not be judged.
Verse 3
There are times
in life when we have to make choices, though
Like if a friend decides to sin and without a grudging tone
Just say, "We're discontinued til you change [that issue]."
But do not judge others of things they been through...
If they're repentant.
When God forgives, sins are all mended
So it's not up to us to hold up the sentence.
But if they don't repent and they know they are sinning
Then they push away Jesus, and all this while grinning.
When it's something
like that, we must pull the plug
Because there's no man on earth who can overrule the Judge
Night hates the daytime, black hates the white
If sin is the verdict, we must make it right.
Study the Bible
so you can judge wisely
The Judge at the end spoke, so use it to guide thee
There are rules of conduct, and things to be fond of
Outside of being wise, we should definitely not judge.
Chorus
Judge not - judge
not - no more taking mug shots
We're all in this together, and judging is a rough spot.
No more criticism, instead let's give out lots of hugs
If we judge not, then we shall not be judged.
...And if it's a true love, then let's give a group-hug.
