What's up with the anchor?
The anchor animation that you see on my pages was created by my cousin Conrad. He did it at my request and didn't use someone else's work to get started. He created it from scratch, exactly as I wanted it.

The anchor is a symbol I've adopted for myself. When I was just a kid, I used to draw pictures a lot. Any time I drew a strong man, I drew an anchor on his arm. Yes, just like Popeye. I never really noticed how much I drew anchors until later in life when I wanted a 'symbol' for myself. After pondering a lot of possibilities, I started drawing things, and the anchor spilled out, just as it usually does.

Not wanting a meaningless symbol, I studied the anchor and realized that it's actually a cross with other things around it. The ring at the top is like a halo, or perhaps a crown of thorns. At the ends of the 'arms' of the cross are two spheres. These could be thought of as the sphere of God's love, to reach out in all directions, to die for His people. At the bottom of the cross, there are two circular shapes stretching out and upwards. These are like the shapes of uplifted hands. We praise our King with uplifted hearts and hands. And finally, there are three points. A 'nail' on the left side of the cross for one of His hands, and another nail on the right side. The final point could be the nail for His feet. Or...

Perhaps it is the nail we might have to take for Him.

The anchor is the symbol for myself. But the cross is at the center. Even though I fail very frequently, that sacrifice on the cross is my hope of salvation. Praise God for such love for His children!!
