Lord, Help Me
The Point: Mercy.
The Message: If You don't help me, Lord, I don't know what I'll do, I'll probably give in to self, and disown You.
The Scoop:Satan is a relentless foe, far greater than we could defeat in our own strength. Everyday he is at our door trying to gain access to our lives. And when he does, he only brings harm to us. God the Father is greater still, and He loves us and is watching over us. We need to ask God daily to keep our lives in check so Satan does not gain a foothold. In times of trouble, we know that we have allowed the devil in our lives somehow, and we need to cry out to God again to rescue us from his tactics. Sometimes we don't know where we have erred and sometimes we do. God is faithful and will show us what we did wrong.
The Tale: This song spells out the truth about Satan. He's not a funny man in a red suit with horns and a pitch fork. He doesn't show up on our shoulder and suggest things to us. Instead he sneaks right into our very minds, influencing our thoughts, yet convincing us that it is our own reasoning. We need to cry out to God to help us through our battles. God always proves true, therefore Satan is a conquered and defeated foe!
The Idea: This was only the third rap song I had written. It was based on my morning prayer, in which I always started with, "Lord, help me through this day..." For a long time this song was called 'Temptation', but I changed the name because I wanted to focus on the Lord, not the devil.
