Judge Not

The Point: Simply... not judging others.

The Message: No more criticism, let's give out lots of hugs, if we judge not then we shall not be judged.

The Scoop: People live their own lives. It's not always the best they can do, but it's not always what they want to do either. It is important to not judge others, instead pray for them. God knows all and sees all. He knows when His children wander from the right way, and will lead them back to Him. By judging others, backbiting, and spreading rumors, we are SERIOUSLY hurting other people. It never helps someone out by talking about them. Indeed, sometimes we need to turn our back on them when it's either that or join them. And sometimes, when it's someone under our influence, we need to sit down and talk with them. Judging others only brings pain. Never judge others, unless it's necessary.

The Tale: The storyline of this song talks about the people around us who may be stumbling in their walk. It is easy to pick up stones and throw them at them. It is easy to see their faults. It is easy to accuse them of hypocrisy. But how often have we sinned? Are we any better? Instead of judging others, we have to start judging ourselves. Because, when we break it all down, judging someone without a good reason obviously shows that we have a problem in our own lives. God says that the same measure we use to judge others will be used measure ourselves. If we can't even see our own faults, how are we to judge the actions of another? Think about it...

The Idea: I wrote this song because I am SICK of all the gossip and rumors that go around. I hate hearing that kind of stuff, and I will rejoice the day people stop judging and start loving.
