Backtrack over the ages, now looking at the manger
In the little town of Bethlehem, starting the New Testament
A little Boy was heaven sent, came to earth to represent

The Kingdom of Eternity, so we could all learn to be
Living life more earnestly, and get to heaven worthily.
The angels made announcements, not to the rich townsmen
But to the humble, and they found them, herding sheep on mountains.

The shepherds ran through the sand, cause I Am Who I Am
Whose hand rules the land, had a plan through this Man
Who grew up kind and gentle, and some people found Him mental
Cause He stayed there in the temple when His parents forgot and went home.

And all through His youth, He always spoke the Truth
Even wise men were stooped at all the Scriptures He knew
From His birth He was spotless, born in a world of the godless
The human frame He adopted, so He understands our problems.

He left His job as builder's kid and was tempted in the wilderness
Satan put Him to the test but He maintained His guiltlessness
No one else could have done this job cause we're all sinful from the cob
But He is guiltless from the crime, cause truly He's the Son of God!

He's coming back to earth again when the Father gives commandment

Verse 2
The priests became jealous, cause the people would tell 'em
Jesus was the fella, but their minds were closed like umbrellas
In the closet, they had no room for Him in their mindset
Gettin' heated like the climate, cause they wanted to be seen as prominate.

They seached for ways to seize Him cause they said He committed treason
They said their king was Caesar and anyone else deserved a beatin'
They put Him on a trial, but no one could defy Him
So they took Him before Pilate, to decide a fate that's final.

Pilate found no faults cause Christ was faultless of course
Still he feared the people's thoughts, and couldn't dismiss the court
He washed his hands of their evil, delivered Christ to the people
He probably wanted to keep Him but he was afraid that he'd get steamrolled.

They took Him out to Calvary, took His hands and nailed them deep
But one thing that they failed to see because their minds were sound asleep
Was all this was prophecy, it was one thing that had got to be
He took their sins and mockery and went down like a bad soccer team.

When He died, the sky turned black, the curtain tore where it was at
The earth rumble and it cracked, and Jesus died to win us back
So as we're looking back in time, we see the perfect sacrifice
Satan's slick as blackened ice, but the way to heaven is that of Christ!

Three days, the gloom of many, then they found the tomb was empty
He didn't need a boomin' entry, they should've known He'd soon be ready
Notice I didn't fail to mention, Christ's glorious resurrection
He didn't stay down with the dead men, but rose up like bread that's leavened.

This is important to our lives, cause He wouldn't be truly Christ
If He didn't truly rise, as truly was prophesied
But He's alive and we're forgiven, He paid for us to get to heaven
We must start acting as if He's present, and living life as if we meant it.

We can see that we are wicked, for we murdered the Golden Ticket
But God is truly love-stricken to send His Son to take a lickin'
God the Father made us all, paid the price to gain us all
Without Christ, our way is loss, but He died to save our soul.

Now it is the job of Christians, to live for Him, cause we are His kids
I hope you do not miss this, we cannot be living wicked
He's coming back, His glory boomin' you got a gift, don't horde it, use it
No we can't be storage units, we gotta tell this story to them!

If you can walk if you can leap, if you can talk if you can speak
If you see loss when you see streets, then spread the cross to those in need
If you're truly in love with Jesus if you appreciate what He did
You heard the story, now repeat it, and don't just say, "Yeah, what he said."
