Using family photographs from the archives of the Royal Palace in Stockholm, Antoinette Ramsay-Herthelius and Ted Rosvall have compiled a fitting tribute to the 'beautiful, good-hearted, admired and beloved' Astrid, Princess of Sweden and later Queen of the Belgians, to mark the 100th anniversary of her birth. Her death just three decades later was sudden and tragic, particularly for the three young children she left behind. Friends and admirers mourned her for years; she became an icon, a modern legend, and remains so to this day.
