Thai Garden

      Immigrants from central and southern China began arriving in the ninth century, adding Garlic, Ginger and Scallions to native Galangal, Kaffir Lime and Lemongrass.   From the Middle East came Coriander and Cumin;  from India Cardamom and Pepper;  from Indonesia Nutmeg, Mace and Cloves, and from the Americas Chili Pepper.   Thailand's blending of all these culinary influences with their own Southeast Asian specialties has produced a cuisine, pleasing to eye, nose and palate, that is distinctly her own.
