  Cover the fundamentals of matting and framing in two days! Students learn design and preservation techniques, knowledge of tools, basic and custom mats, hands-on mat cutting, mounting & assembly of pre-cut frames. Try our mat cutters or bring your own.   This 2-day workshop covers the fundamantals of matting and framing.   Excellent for artists, collectors or anyone interested in getting into the framing business.   Learn design and preservation techniques, knowledge of tools, basic and custom matting, hands-on mat cutting, mounting, and pre-cut frame assembly.   Important - bring a ready-made 8x10" frame (either assembled or unassembled) and an image up to 5x7" to mat to 8x10" as your primary class project.

  Want to learn different money saving decoration for mats? Improve your mats with Pencils and Paints; Paper or Fabric, Gold Pens, etc. Use our equipmant to cut Ovals, Circles and V-grooves. Float Mounting, Spacers and Shadow Box Mounting of Objects is covered. Come to our 1-day hands-on workshop, we will teach you the tricks professionals use in Frame Shops. You do not need to have mat cutting experiece to take this workshop. A $20 materials fee, payable to the instructor, covers supplies and use of tools. • "Wood Frame Cutting and Joining" - Alexandria, VA

  Wood Frame Cutting & Joining (ALG) This one day workshop picks up where pre-cut frame joining leaves off. Learn to cut to length, miter, join and assemble a wood frame. Painting and embellishing frames will be demonstrated. (If you have used frames you want to cut and rejoin this is the class for you.) All you need is some familiarity and comfort with basic hand tools and we’ll take off from there. A hands-on workshop.
