Mi Pagina (la Diabla Roja)
Spanish page returning... hmm... it will eventually, really...
iHola! Me llamo Erin... this is my cyberhaven, my space to ramble and procrastinate. I am a 1999 graduate of
Ephrata High School and a former student at Dickinson College.
Unfortunately, due to some health problems I had to leave my beloved Noble Dickinsonia , where I had some incredible experiences and met some amazing people, many through
Army ROTC,
Alpha Phi Omega, and the
Syrens, Dickinson's all-female
a capella group.
I've had experience as a farmhand, a produce clerk, a Japanese instructor, a Cutco sales rep, a babysitter, a concert bass clarinetist, and a 93P-to-be in the
Aviation Brigade of the 28th Inf.Div. at Ft. Indiantown Gap
in the
Pennsylvania National Guard. Unfortunately, I had to leave that as well due to those pesky medical issues that keep interrupting my life plans. But no worries... I'm planning on putting my East Asian Studies major to good use, and going to school parttime for certification in massage and aromatherapy. So my plans went from teaching Spanish to becoming a Military Police officer in Korea to performing acupressure in northeastern Ohio... seems like a natural progression. :P

Take the Purrsonality Quiz!
Mi familia... I come from the boonies of Amish Country in Pa, now in the suburbs of Cleveland. After a lot of bizarre experiences and stupid stupid stupid mistakes (hint: two weeks is not long enough to know someone before getting engaged... or putting his name on your bank account... or sharing a car title), things are finally beginning to look up a bit. I've got a supersweet new guy, a great (if temporary) new job talking CHOCOLATE all day, a kick-ass new apartment (with my incredible sister's incredible help)
As for genealogy... the Burgen/Bergens immigrated to the U.S. from the village of Melat in Vilnius, Lithuania around 1910, and the Yankelowitches (Youngs) came from Minsk, Belarus in 1898. The Shapiros changed their name to Solomon and were probably also from Belarus. All of the above were of the Jewish faith. The Rosemans and Pomranings came from Germany in 1888. Conrad Giese sailed from Rotterdam in 1741. His ancestors were the Gysis (which produced a horrendous variety of spellings), originally from Kenton Basel, HÓÍstein, Switzerland, who then migrated to Hassloch, Pfaltz, Germany in the early 17th cen. If any of this sounds familiar, please don't hesitate to share or ask me for any info.
