Once upon a time in the land of Casan, two kingdoms lay opposite of each other by the river Torel. One kingdom was normal. The people who lived in it worked hard, led happy lives and had a king that loved them. The other kingdom was strange. Its inhabitants worked hard and led happy lives, but their king was a great stag. This was a kingdom of animals. The lived as humans do. The farmed the land, created goods, went to church, and had festivals The animal kingdom was happy.

One day, the king of the humans decided that the animal kingdom had had their ridiculous kingdom long enough. Their land was good and the animals could work hard for him, so he decided to invade. He went before his people and told them his idea, and they cheered, for so many animals that close scared them.

"But wait," said the general of the army. "How will you invade? Their militia is strong. It's fighters are wolves, tigers, bears, and lions. Their general, the Great Bear, is a great tactician. They will surpass our army."

The king frowned. He had not thought of this before. "We will not be able to take them by force. We will have to use our cunning. Bring me Delesma, the witch, and see if she can help." So the people found Delesma and brought her to the king. He told her his idea, and she smiled.

"I will help you, King, but only if you give me three things. One, a small new home; two, a new gown; and three, a young girl whom I can train as my apprentice."

They thought for a moment, then agreed to the witch’s wishes. He, Delesma, and the army would go to the animals the next day.

The animals seemed surprised to see the humans entering their home. King Stag called the human king, Delesma, and the human general to his palace.

"Hello friends," he said. "What brings you to our kingdom?"

The human king cleared his throat. "We have decided that we have let you have this kingdom long enough. You are animals, not humans. We give you two choices. We will let you work for us as animals, or we will change you into humans."

The Stag snorted. "You are good to the end, King. I should kill you now, but I know your witch is protecting you." The King and the general laughed and left the Stag. Delesma stood.

"They are very foolish. If you can find me a pure white trout, a green diamond, and a golden lily, I will protect you from the humans." With that, she disappeared into a cloud of smoke.

The Stag told his people of the news. They were appalled by the humans. They agreed to search for the items. A huge brown bear traveled to the snow lands to find a trout that the cold had turned white. With the help from his cousin, the polar bear, he found the odd trout under a glacier. The ground hogs started digging deep into the earth t find the diamond. Bugs and worms told them of a strange green glowing, and in no time, they had found the diamond. The bees and hummingbirds searched for the lily. Soon, the bees came back and alerted the birds, who went a lucked the flower from a valley that glittered gold. The animals brought all the animals back and the Stag called for Delesma. She soon appeared with the human king.

The stag said, "We have found your items, Delesma."

"So you have. For this, I grant you the right to live as you have for years without the threat of humans." She said some strange words, and the object disappeared. "King Stag, you are a true King. This human king could learn from you."

The king of the humans blushed, for he knew his people would not have been able to find these items so quickly. He bowed to the Stag, and both kings decided to become allies. The kingdoms existed in harmony, and their inhabitants lived happily ever after.
