If I fly first to Jesus’ arms
Will my last vision be your face?
Your eyes of love so beautiful
That none on earth could e’er replace?

Will parting words that touch my ear
Be your sweet voice reminding me
That we once vowed to God and man
That we would love eternally?

Will you press so closely to me
That your heart’s beating touches mine?
Will you wrap your arms around me,

Enfold me in your love sublime?
Will I feel your fingers tracing
Love’s patterns on my furrowed brow?
Will I taste your honey kisses?
Will I know love is here, and now?

Will you pull back the window’s veil
That God’s sunlight may cover me?
Then will you gently lift me up
And turn my head that I might see
There upon the near horizon
The mountains where we used to roam?

Then sing , softly, “Amazing Grace”,
And with your blessing send me home?
That morning when you fly away,
When you see Jesus, face to face,
When you’ve basked in the purest love,
And tasted fully of His grace,

When with your tears you’ve washed His feet,
And when he’s brushed your tears away,
Will you then turn and call my name?
I’ll run to you without delay.

In the presence of the author
Of our love we’ll clearly see
A cord of three strands never breaks.
In Him we’ll love eternally.
