CHAPELSNAP IN AMERICAN LITERATURE

Congrats to hometown Native Bill Oakenthorpe, for getting his scathing, LSD inspired historically based novel/social criticism, "CHAPELSNAP:THE TRUE STORY OF AN AMERICAN TOWN" published by Storm Tower Press. Critics are raving "Better than Chapelsnap Zagats!"- Willie McPoodle, Weltsville Voice. Some even think it's one of the top twenty novels of the modern age. Way to go Bill!

Did you know that Edgar Allen Poe once threw up at rustic tavern KEG LEG PETE’S in downtown Chapelsnap? Neither did he. During the tumultuous alcoholic period toward the end of his life, Poe circled the country. Local legend says he composed famed short story and Roger Corman vehicle "Deathrace 2000" during his stay in town, inspired by the Old Slutty, the unpredictable geyser in Chaplesnap National Park.
