2. What incentive could be used to entice State Referees to step up and take the National test? (Submitted by Nick Theodorou)
No incentive should be necessary for a lifter to give back to the sport by becoming a judge, but some incentives will be given to thank those who wish to help.
It was determined to give all new state referees an ADAU embroidered polo shirt as a uniform shirt for meets. All National referees who judge at least one meet in a year, will be given a free membership in the ADAU for the following year.
3. All 3 lift powerlifting meets must offer at least one of the single lifts so that we can entice more lifters to compete in our organization. (Jointly submitted by Allan Siegel and Joe Orengia)
As written above the motion was defeated unanimously. The word "must" was the key objection, and should be changed to "may". Adding a single lift competition to a full meet is encouraged, but is to be done at the discretion of the meet director.
4. For 2009 both Single Lift Nationals and Powerlifting Nationals be combined into one two day meet. This, if accepted, should be re-evaluated at each years meet for the following year. (Jointly submitted by Allan Siegel and Joe Orengia)
CORRECTION INSERTED 7-1-08:
The following item is incorrect: A lifter may lift in all 3 single lifts if he/she chooses to, but will not get credit for a total. A lifter can register and lift in the powerlifting event and also all three single lifts for record setting purposes and to earn more awards, if they wish to.
This motion was passed with the re-evaluation part omitted. The meets will be combined in 2009, but if a lifter wants to compete in the Powerlifting Nationals he or she may also compete in no more than two of the single lifts in the Single Lift Nationals. Records can be set in both meets, but someone wanting to compete in all three single lifts must lift in the powerlifting meet only.
.........It was passed by a 9 to 0 vote (at the Single Lift Nationals) that a lifter can lift in the Powerlifting Nationals and all 3 single lifts, and pays the correct fees, so that he or she can set both powerlifting and single lift records.........
5. If item 4 is accepted The Downtown Weightlifing Club of Clearfield would like to host the meet at a different site than the Bigler Civic Center. A larger site with more bathroom facilities would be used, possiblely a local hotel which has food services. (Submitted by Allan Siegel)
The bid was awarded to the Downtown Weightlifting Club of Clearfield. As of this date the meet is tentatively scheduled to be held in late June or early July at the Exposition Building at the Clearfield County Fair site in the driving park. It will be planned to be held at the same time as some other event in the park so that many interested people can witness the event.
6. In an attempt to draw more people who see ADAU and don't know what it means, we should consider moving the words "RAW POWER" out of the middle of our logo and move it where it stands out more, like at the top or bottom of the Eagle. We should at the same time use the following in all meet advertisements and meet names: "RAW POWER by the ADAU", or "ADAU RAW POWER". This item was discussed in much detail. It was determined to change the logo to include the word "ADAU" above the eagle and to move the words "Raw Power" from on the shield and place it below the eagle.
At the same time, it was determined to include the words "ADAU Raw Power" in the name of all meets. Therefore the meet scheduled for late October in Bigler will now be called the "ADAU Raw Power Central PA Open".
7. Have a professional website dedicated to just ADAU lifters and events. (Submitted by a member of the ADAU)

This item was defeated by a vote of 8 to 1.
10. A motion was brought up to increase dues by $5.00 a year for both senior and junior members to help pay for the cost of advertising, promotion and travel.
