-Randy- said, "El niņo definitely does alter winter from its "normal" state, and therefore has the largest influence on the entire season. Things such as AO, NAO, and PNA have a tendency to fluctuate much more frequently than SST's in the Pac. So for an overall seasonal impact, El niņo is the biggest factor."
