Parish Worship Time Shifts

Our worship times (through August) are as follows:
     St. Thomas                                  9:00 a.m.
     Trinity                                        10:30 a.m
The times will shift again, starting on September 6th.
Please Note:
On Sunday, August 16, St. Thomas and Trinity will trade worship times for that Sunday only.  This allows St. Thomas to celebrate their homecoming together at the late service.

God in Daily Life
The Lord's Blessing

God is present in our daily lives, not just in Sunday worship.  Invite those you know to receive the Lord's blessing.

5th Sundays of the Month

We are making a slight change to the routine for those months that have five Sundays.  In recent years, the 5th Sunday was "Youth Sunday", where our Luther Leaguers helped to lead liturgy.  Starting August 30th, our 5th Sundays together will now be "Hymn Sing Sundays".  In the two weeks prior to a 5th Sunday, you will have the opportunity to submit the name of a favorite hymn for us to sing in worship.  We will seek to incorporate as many as possible in the most faithful manner possible on those 5th Sundays of worship. We will continue to have "Youth Services", just not on the 5th Sundays of the month.

Guest Speakers and Preachers

The following guest preachers and speakers will be with us in worship this summer:
On July 19,  Bob Bastian will be at St. Thomas to give a temple talk on the new "Crossroads Campaign" at Gettysburg Seminary.
On July 26, Pastor Myers will preach and lead worship while Pastor Krista is with our mission group to New Orleans.
On August 16, Pastor Herb Lohr will preach at St. Thomas for Homecoming weekend festivities.  Pastor Lohr is a son of St. Thomas and we look forward to receiving him among us.

Devotional Booklets

Many of the parish have expressed positive feedback to the Lenten devotional written by Pastor Krista.  We will be considering this option again for Advent.  There will be more information in later months.

Worship Committee News

The Worship Committee is looking at putting together some worship education materials for those who serve on the committee, as well as those worshipping among us at St. Thomas.  Current committee members are: Jerry Shaulis (chairman), Janet Gindlesperger, Bev Wiley, Patty Ott and Pastor Krista.  June Ott will be retiring from the committee at the end of August and Gevie Brant has recently retired.  We thank them both for their years of dedicated service in the name of our Lord.
