Joey Wessel was a wonderful man and a wonderful frynd. A father. A Lynyrd Skynyrd fan.
In spite of his long personal battle with Lou Gherig's disease, Joey was a caring, loving person that touched hearts world wide. His infectious grin was so bright, you couldn't help but smile back. His disease paralyzed him from the neck down. He typed to us by holding a pencil in his mouth to strike the keys. It took a lot of effort on his part to communicate with us, but he always had a kind word and offered his love and support to his frynds no matter what, no matter how bad he was feeling that day. We lost Joey to his terrible disease on February 17, 2000. Though he is gone from us physically, he is still with us spiritually, in our hearts and in our minds. We will never forget the kind soul that became so special to all of us in the last few years of his life. We love you, Joey, may you rest in peace.

I will have more pix to add to this page, so please check back! I would be happy to post any pix you may have of Joey, or link YOUR tribute to Joey here.
