The maze of limestone caverns formed 5,000,000 years ago,contains some of the most facinating caves in the world among them the Deer Cave which has the largest passage known to man; Clearwater Cave where an underground river flows through the cave and emerges as a sun dappled pool beside the cave entrance; and the Sarawak Chamber which is noted for being the world's largest natural rock chamber, the size of which is said to be able to accomodate 40 Boeing 747s. This test is yet to be carried out. *S*
THE DEER CAVE - which has the largest passage tunnels through one of the hills in Mulu and both cave mouths admit enough light to make this a twilight cave except at its very center.
