Hello everyone, my name is Lisa Balaban, I'm pretty new at the web page stuff so please tell me about defective stuff. I'm 16 years old and i attend Geibel High School in a really small town not worth mentioning in Pennsylvania. I'm really involved there so really don't have too much time until weekend to talk but I always try to throughout the week. Anyway most of you are probably here looking up Mozart so here it is:
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was born in 1756 in Salzburg, Austria. He began to compose music at the age of 5. By age 6 he was involved in concerts where he played his own music. His life was short but his works remained great! His father was a great influence on him and wass also a composer and violinist. He taught Mozart and his older sister Maria Anna the musical training that they needed.
Mozart never attended a formal school, buthe learned about many different musical styles from the musicians he met in his travels. By age 14 Mozart became a concertmaster at the court of the archbishop. In 1781 after he decided that he was paid too poorly and left the archbishop he went to live in Vienna. He soon after married and tried to support his family by giving music lessons. These plans did not work out for him so he became very poor. In 1787 he was appointed court composer to the Austrian emperor. In 1791 a mysterious stranger asked Mozart to compose a Requiem mass (funeral service music). At this time he was very ill and he is said to have thought of his own funeral while writing the Requiem, which was unfinished at the time. Later a student of his finished it.
Mozart wrote more than 600 compositions. His music was lively, vigorous spirit and beautiful melodies that still sound fresh!!!
