Gilbert's Books and Royal Russia are pleased to announce a new and expanded edition of Romanov Relations: Volume One, to be published next month.

Originally published in 1999, it became one of our most popular titles. In the past year, copies have been sold on Amazon.com and eBay for up to $200 USD!!

The new expanded edition will feature an additional full-length article by Louise Mountbatten, Queen of Sweden, who visited Russia in 1914 with her mother, a full-colour cover, and illustrated throughout with dozens of vintage photographs.

The list of articles and authors includes:

(1)The Imperial Family of Russia by The Countess Marguerite Cunliffe-Owen

(2)The Last Days of The Grand Duke Michael by the Princess Poutiatine

(3)H.I.H. The Grand Duchess Elisabeth Feodorovna of Russia by the Countess Alexandra Olsoufieff

(4)The Controversial Grand Duchess: An Intimate Biography of the Grand Duchess Marie Pavlovna, Senior by Christopher Heu

(5) The Russian Imperial Family in Olden Times by Princess Catherine Radziwill

(6)Flight from Russia by Louise Mountbatten, Queen of Sweden

The most interesting of the articles in Volume One are The Last Days of The Grand Duke Michaelby the Princess Poutiatine, and H.I.H. The Grand Duchess Elisabeth Feodorovna of Russia by the Countess Alexandra Olsoufieff. The authors knew the subjects of their respective articles and offer very personal and intimate details of their respective lives and personalities. From an historical perspective, they are true literary gems!

Romanov Relations will be a new multi-volume series of books published by Royal Russia and Gilbert's Books. Each volume will feature a selection of articles on members of the Russian Imperial family by a variety of authors, and historians, as well as by royal relatives and members of the nobility who knew the Romanov's in person. Each has their own unique story to tell, with anecdotes and observations that may be new to many Romanovphiles.
