This new book, an album of photographs gathered by the author over many years - the majority of which are unpublished - from Alexander II to Nicholas II. The collection of photographs is unique, in that it shows the extended Romanov family, including the grand dukes and grand duchesses, as well as the princes and princesses of the Imperial blood. There are formal portraits taken to celebrate comings of age, weddings of other family gatherings, but also pictures of the various members of the dynasty at their ease. Together with anecdotes and quotations, this book captures the essence of the personalities portrayed by the camera lens. This is probably the finest Romanov pictorial published to date!
