The authors have reconstructed through a profusion of original photographs and informative text the history of the palace and the daily lives of Emperors Alexander III and Nicholas II and their families at this Imperial residence and hunting lodge. This book contains 124 pages, and offers more than 250 photographs. Of importance is An Album of Photographs by Z. Karasik made for Grand Duke Vladimir Alexandrovich, which shows the interiors of this unique Gothic-style hunting palace. Also of interest is The Bialowieza Railroad, a section containing archival photographs of the Imperial train. Overall, the quality of this books is very impressive. The text of each book is written in three languages: English, Polish and Russian. Many of the photographs will certainly be new to readers. The selection of photographs of the interiors of this Imperial residence is exceptional to say the very least! Sadly, Bialowieza has not survived. However, we must be grateful that the outstanding collection of photographs published in this magnificent volume has. They allow us to have a more comprehensive appreciation for this Imperial residence that was cherished by the last two Russian sovereigns and their families. Thank You for Your Order!
