The burial of Tsar Nicholas II was one of the most important events in 20th century Russian history On 17 July 1998, Nicholas II, the last Tsar of Russia, his wife, three of their five children, the family doctor and three of their faithful servants were interred in the Chapel of Saint Catherine the Martyr in the Peter and Paul Cathedral in St. Petersburg. After more than 80 years Tsar Nicholas II made his Final Journey.

This book offers a variety of articles by Russian writers who were in attendance at this historic event. They follow the controversy surrounding the nation coming to terms with the brutal murders of Russia’s Imperial family in 1918. Interviews with Russians who were children when the tsar was still in power offer insight as to how the tsar’s abdication and murder affected the people who admired him. A history of the burial of members of the Russian Imperial family, and a report issued by the church on the canonization of the tsar and his family are included. The book is complimented with a selection of photographs, maps and guides of the ceremonies in St. Petersburg making this book a real collectors item on one of the most important events in Russian history.
