This CD includes 11 Russian songs about the last Russian Tsar Martyr Nicholas II, his family and the monarchy by Russian bard and folk singer Zhanna Bichevskaya. Often compared to as a Russian Joan Baez, her beautiful voice and lyrics offer up a selection of religious songs and hymns about old Russian and Imperial history. One does not have to understand Russian to be moved by the haunting voice of this talented artist. The BONUS track of this CD includes a rare voice recording of Tsar Nicholas found on track No. 12, and a live vintage recording of the Russian Imperial anthem, God Save the Tsar..
Most modern musicians are very mediocre at best, however, Zhanna Bichevskaya truly stands out. Not only is she a very popular and talented musician, she is also a strong supporter of monarchy. She clearly shows her support for it through her music. One of her most popular and famous songs found on this CD is in honour of the Tsar Nicholas II and his family. Many of her lyrics glorify the Russian Tsar and call for the reinstatement of the Russian monarchy.She also sings many songs of the Royalist White army. However don't get the impression that she is propagandist. She is a true artist. Her music is a breath of fresh air from many of modern musicians. I definietly recommend her music to monarchists.
