As part of the Night of Museums event held at Tsarskoye Selo on May 18th, a rare collection of autochromes were put on display for the very first time.
Visitors saw colour images of the interiors of the Alexander Palace taken shortly after the last tsar, Nicholas II and his family were sent into exile in 1917.
The autochromes, which were acquired last year are of immense historical value and will prove invaluable with the restoration of the interiors of the Alexander Palace over the next few years.
