"Buffy, can we ...talk?" Cordelia asked over the phone. Buffy let out a deep sigh. Great! Last time she called to talk she complained on how I needed a new hairdo.
"What do you want, Cordelia?" Buffy asked sounding over annoyed. Buffy meant to say it that way hoping Cordelia would catch on and leave her alone.
"You know Xander." Cordelia said. Buffy rolled her eyes.
"Wow! Nothing get's passed you." Buffy said sarcastically. Cordelia was hurt. She needed someone to talk to and she thought Buffy was the perfect person.
"I mean you know him pretty well, so...."
"Spit it out Cordelia I have things to do, cemetaries to patrol, vampires to kill. yada yada yada." Buffy said impatiently. Cordelia decided to give up. She let out a long frustrated and hurt sigh.
"Nevermind." Cordelia finally said and hung up.
"Thank goodness!" Buffy said. She went back to watching her movie.

Willow and Xander were in the library laughing hysterically over some past slaying adventures they had. "We did have some fun times. So.....how are you and Oz doing?" Xander asked. Willow smiled.
"We're doing fine. He's away right now. Him and his band are trying to get a record deal." Willow said proudly.
Xander was a bit jealous.
Xander rubbed Willow's cheek. He could tell she missed Oz. But he rubber her cheek a little too much because they suddenly started to kiss. They finally pulled away breathless in shock. Then Xander realized Cordelia was standing there and saw the whole thing.
"Cordy! Wait." Xander yelled.
Cordelia took off running as fast as she could down the the stairs of the school. She finally just fell on her knees and started crying. Xander saw her and his heart almost stopped. This was the first time he'd ever seen her cry. Cordelia was really hurt and it was all his fault. He went down to her.
"Cordy?" He whispered.
"WHY!?!?!" Cordelia yelled. " I've tried. I know I can be....can be....a bitch...but I still have feelings. Why do you wanna hurt me?" Cordelia cried. Xander felt so guilty. He went to go comfort Cordelia but she jerked away and started to run off. "Cordy!" He called
"JUST LEAVE ME ALONE!" Cordelia yelled back and kept running.

Cordelia walked home crying. Why? If he liked her then why was he with me? Cordelia looked at her watch. 10:37 pm. She heard footsteps behind her. Without even looking Cordelia for some reason could tell it was a vampire. Not just any vampire. Spike. She started to cry some more. Great! A broken heart and a vampire in one night. Cordelia wished she was wrapped up in her warm blanket in her bed in her home with a bag of chips, a pepsi, and a movie. Spike was still following her. Why hasn't he attacked me yet?....That's right...he likes to play those stupid games first. Cordelia pretended not to know he was there. She heard his footsteps getting faster and faster. She still didn't turn around. "How yah doing, luv? What's wrong? Broken heart?" Spike whimpered sarcastically. Cordelia finally turned around. Cordelia looked a mess. Her hair was messed up, her mascara ran from the tears. "Look, Spike. I'm not even going to ask what you want? Cause I already know. You can go ahead and kill me but I promise you I will not die without leaving a few bruises on you." Cordelia said bravely in a mix with crying. Spike smiled.
"This is going to be fun then." He said and with that he punched Cordelia in the face. Cordelia fell to the ground moaning. Spike ran to him and Cordelia quickly kicked him in the face. She had picked up a few pointers from watching Buffy fight. Spike didn't fall but almost fell back. Cordelia didn't let him have a chance to recover she immediately kicked him again. She suddenly found a stake lying on the ground. Perhaps one Buffy dropped when patroling maybe. She went to grab it but Spike stepped on her hand. "Ouch!" She cried.
"Uh-huh sweetheart. Your not playing fair. I don't have any weapons then you don't have any weapons." Spike said. He picked up Cordelia and threw her some 10 ft. Cordelia could barely move but when she saw Spike coming towards her she tried her best to move. And with every movie she started to cry some more. Please. Some one help me. She suddenly saw Xander and Buffy walking across the street. They apparently didn't see her. But before she could yell for them spike picked her up and slammed her to the ground. He then wrapped his hands around her throat and proceeded to choke her. Cordelia gagged hopelessly for air. He had an extremely tight grip and he was tightening it more and more. Any tighter and soon her neck would be broken. Finally Cordelia got enough strength to take her purse and whack him over the head. He fell beside her. She struggled to get to her feet. She stumbled towards Buffy and Xander. She went to scream but couldn't. Spike had choked her so hard she could barely make a sound. She took her purse and threw it towards Buffy and Xander. They heard the purse fall to the floor. They looked up to see Cordelia collapse. They ran towards her. Xander ran to her side. Buffy went after Spike.
"Cordy?" Xander asked. Cordelia couldn't breathe. She was desperately trying to get some breathe but couldn't. Suddenly Spike knocked Xander out of the way and picked up Cordelia again. Cordelia was in so much pain she could barely feel or even know what was happening to her. Spike choked her some more and when he saw Buffy and Xander running towards him he threw Cordelia again and ran off.
Xander ran over to her. He shook her. She didn't move. He shook her some more. His heart almost stopped again. Noo. Cordy please come back. He kept trying to shake her. "Oh god.. Oh god! Oh GOD!!!! NO. God PLEASE! NO!!" Tears filled Xanders eyes. Buffy came over. She checked Cordelia. "She's dead." Buffy said in disbelief. Buffy suddenly remembered how rudely she acted towards Cordelia on the phone earlier. Xander felt even more guilty for the way he'd been treating Cordelia lately and tonight. "Wait!" Buffy said. Xander looked up at her. "When I drowned you brought me back. Cordelia was choked to death maybe just maybe we can still get her back." Buffy said. Xander was willing to try anything. He didn't waste time. He immediately started the CPR. "Come on. Come on. Cordy." Xander said. Buffy watched hoping Cordelia would come back. Suddenly a cough came out. Cordelia opened her eyes. She was breathing hard. Atleast she was breathing. Xander smiled. He scooped Cordelia in his arms and hugged her. "Thank God. What would I do without you Cordy. I'm soo sorry." He said. He was crying in happiness.

*A Week Later*
"How's Cordelia?" Willow asked Xander. Xander let out a sigh.
"I don't know. I do know she is still in the hospital. I heard she could speak but her voice is real low and it'll take a few days to come back. She doesn't want any visitors." Xander looked so guilty. "Willow about that kiss...."
"Xander, look we've been friends for soo long it was bound to happen atleast once. We've got it out of our systems so now we can get on with our lives. You like Cordelia. I love Oz. So, there is nothing between us but friendship." Willow said then smiled. Xander smiled at her.
"I'm glad you understand Will. You're my best friend." He said and with that they hugged. Buffy suddenly walked in.
"Hey guys. I'm going to see Cordelia." Buffy said.
"You can't. She doesn't want any visitors." Willow said.
"That's why I'm sneaking in the room. I have to apologize for they way I treated her. Besides I figure I've died once, she's died once, we have something in common and she needs someone to talk too." Buffy said. She didn't wait for replys. She was out the door. Xander and Willow looked at each other then followed Buffy.

Buffy crept quietly into the hospital ward. She passed by all the rooms looking for Cordelia's room. "Smith, Lopez, Jones, Chase...CHASE." Buffy said to herself. She walked into the room. Cordelia sat up. She looked dazed and depressed. Buffy stood there looking at her. Cordelia didn't notice her. Buffy saw magazines and cd's left by her parents but not one had been touch. Her parents had even bought her new makeup which was unopened. There was a food tray untouched which explained why Cordelia looked like she hadn't eaten in days. Her hair was pulled back tightly in a simple low ponytail. Which was unusual for Cordelia. She usually added style. Buffy walked towards her. Cordelia finally looked up. "Buffy?" She said in a very low tone. Her voice was coming back but slowly.
"Hi, Cordy. I know you didn't want any visitors but I came to see you and to apologize for the way I treated you." Buffy said in a guilty tone. Cordelia closed her eyes for a moment then opened them.
"Why?" Long pause. "Why apologize to me? Only cause I died? Buffy you never did like me so what's the point? You never apologized before. " Long pause. Buffy had her head down. Cordelia continued." It's ok Buffy, I treated you pretty badly too so I guess what happened last week was well deserved."
"No. Nobody deserves to die. Besides Cordelia I've always been mean to you when you are mean to me. The night you called me you really needed to talk to me. You weren't mean to me. You just needed someone to talk to and I acted way harsh towards you. So even if you hadn't died my concious would have caught up to me and I would have apologized." Buffy exclaimed. Buffy looked for a reaction from Cordelia. Nothing. She still looked dazed. "Cordelia?" Buffy whispered. Cordelia looked at her. " I feel bad." Buffy couldn't think of anything else.
"I feel bad too Buffy. I have treated everyone so wrong. I guess being dead can change a person. " Cordelia said half laughing. Buffy smiled at her. Xander and Willow had their heads peeking in the room eavesdropping. They listened. But Buffy and Cordelia talked in whispers. Next time they looked up Cordy and Buffy were hugging. "Awwww....What a kodak momment." Xander said.

2 weeks later.
"Cordy, I bought you a present." Xander said. Cordelia looked over at him. She smiled.
"Xander, You don't have to buy me any presents. Besides remember when I got out of the hospital I told you not to buy me anything." She said. Xander smiled.
"And Since when do I listen to you?" Xander asked jokingly. He handed her a little box. Cordelia opened it. It was the single for the song "Sweetheart" By Mariah Carey and Jermaine Dupri. Cordelia loved that song. She kissed Xander on the cheek.
"Thank you." They walked hand in hand.
"I'll walk you home Cordy." He said.
She grabbed a stake and handed another to Xander.
"Just in case." She said.
They got into Xander's Mom's car and drove to Cordy's house. They saw a body lying in the cemetary. They stopped the car. "We have to go look." Cordelia said. They walked over to the body. It was Spike. His head had a serious wound. It was bleeding quite alot. He was knocked out. Xander grabbed Cordelia's hand.
"Cordelia lets go." He said and pulled her.
"No."
"NO? Cordy we have to go before he wakes up and decides to get some food to make up for his loss of blood." Xander said.
Cordelia jerked her hand away. "No, Xander, it's 5:30 am. The sun is coming up soon. We can't just leave him here to die." Cordelia said.
"Ok, Cordelia. I'm glad that your short experience with death cause you to have a conscious and a soul but right now we don't need it. COME ON! He killed you for god's sake. And if he wakes up he is liable to kill you again and this time permanently! Now let's go." Xander explained.
"Xander, still we can't leave him!" She cried.
"Ok Cordelia you have gone mad. He is a VAMPIRE. We can leave him and we WILL leave him." Xander ordered.
"Xander, I'm doing this with or without you!" Cordelia said. She proceeded to start dragging Spike's body in the direction of his mansion. They had no idea Spike had just heard every word they said. He was too hurt to even attack them. Xander hesitated then knew he'd feel guilty if he woke up the next morning to find out Cordelia's dead and know he had left her alone with Spike. He then helped Cordelia get Spike's body and they put it in the back seat. They got in the car and drove as fast as they could.
"Alright, we got to hurry up and get him to his house then leave before he wakes up and gets hungry." Xander said. Cordelia said nothing she just looked determined to get Spike home. "You know Cordy I really don't know what's gotten into you." Xander said.

They finally reached the house. "Shoot!" Xander yelled.
"What?" Cordelia asked quickly. She looked at him.
"What if Drusilla's here?" He asked. Cordelia didn't answer. They carried Spike's body inside. Xander dropped his side.
"Ok, we leave him right here. Lets go." Xander said grabbing Cordelia.
"No. There is a window right there. The sun is rising in a few minutes. He will die!" Cordelia yelled. Xander thought for a second making sure he heard right.
"Cordelia! Do yo think he said these exact same words when he killed you?! Do you think he cared." Xander asked. Cordelia didn't answer. She carried Spikes body onto the bed and covered him with a blanket. Xander grabbed her arm and they ran out of that place.

"Cordelia, what has gotten into you?" Giles yelled. Cordelia knew right then that Xander had told. She didn't answer Giles. She just wanted everybody to shutup and leave her alone. She walked over and got a book from a shelf, Vampires and other demons. They all looked at her. They were suprised she was actually reading a book. "Cordelia, are you listening? Why did you save him?" Giles continued. Cordelia let out a frustrated sigh. She looked at her watch. 8 pm. She got up and went to leave. Everybody called after her but she didn't listen. She just kept going. She saw the cemetary up ahead her. Where she died. She walked to the cemetary. She wasn't scared. There was a vampire behind her and she knew who it was. "Angel, You think just because you are quiet no one can tell your there?" Cordelia said. Angel stepped out.
"Sorry. I thought after Spike killed you you'd be nowhere near this place. " He said.
"So, Angel do you have a habit of following me. I've noticed that after I died you were following me even hiding out in the hospital. Care to explain?" She asked. Angel had a shocked look on his face.
"How did you know I've been.."
"Following me? Well, I guess when you're killed by a vampire you can sense the them after that." She said. "Don't try to avoid the question, Angel. Why have you been following me?" She asked again.
"Well, I usually always patrol the cemetaries at night. I guess I feel guilty that I wasn't there the night Spike killed you." He said in a low tone. Cordelia threw her arms up and sighed with frustration.
"Does everyone feel guilty? Why?! " Cordelia asked to the sky. "Don't even answer. Just leave me alone!" Cordelia said and walked off. She knew Angel was running after her.
"Cordelia! Wait a second." He yelled to her. She just kept on walking. Angel grabbed her arm. "Cordelia." Cordelia finally looked at him.
"What?!"
"I just wanted to say I'm sorry for not being there." He said. Cordelia didn't answer she just left.

Buffy took a stake out. Drusilla laughed. "Do you really think you can kill me Buffy?" She said teasing. Buffy kicked Drusilla in the face. She went to get the stake but Drusilla kicked her. She pinned Buffy to the floor. She slapped Buffy hard across the face then slit her throat. Buffy tried to breath but only choked. She was dead. Drusilla laughed and left.

"Alright! Drusilla now has killed 2 slayers!" Spike said in happy mood. Him and Drusilla danced around.
"Spike?"
"Yes, luv?"
"Can I have a present since I killed a slayer? PLEASE?" She asked. Spike smiled at her.
"Sure, pet. What would you like?" He asked.
"I want another bird." She said. Spike kissed her, then picked her up and swung her around.
"Anything for you pet."

"What do you mean she's dead." Willow asked starting to cry. Xander hugged Willow tightly.
"I'm sorry. I know it's hard. But Buffy is dead" Giles said. Willow and Xander cried. Cordelia cried to but quietly. I can't believe she is dead. Cordelia thought. Giles paced back and forth. He started packing up his things.
"Where are you going?" Xander asked.
"I have to go to the Watcher Committee. They want me to train the new slayer. They are going to tell me who she is." Giles said. They all looked sadly. A new slayer. No Buffy , the Vampire Slayer anymore.

Cordelia walked home alone feeling sad about Buffy. She felt a presence. A Vampire she knew right away. Angel. She let out a sigh. "Why are you following me again?" She asked. Angel came out. He looked sad. Of course, Buffy had died. Cordelia looked down. "I'm sorry about Buffy." She said. Angel didn't say anything. She went over and gave Angel a hug. They were more vampires around Cordelia knew it. Angel knew it too. They quickly quit hugging. A vampire came out of nowhere and knocked out Angel. It soon came after Cordelia. It punched her in the face. Cordelia saw Spike coming. Great! Just what I need. My murderer is here while I'm trying to get a vampire off my back. Spike came up to the vampire and beat him senseless. Cordelia stood shocked. She started to run when another vampire jumped on her. He punched Cordelia. "Angel! Wake up!" She screamed. Angel was knocked out. He lay looking like dead on the ground. Cordelia tried getting away from the vampire while at the same time seeing where Spike was. She couldn't see Spike anywhere. Maybe he left. Good. Now, I only have one vampire to get off my back. I wish Buffy was here. The vampire grabbed Cordelia by the hair and slammed her face into the grass. Cordelia felt woozy. Everything was fuzzy all of a sudden. Dear God, please don't let me die a second time. Everything went black.

"Where the hell is Cordelia? She was supposed to be here 30 minutes ago." Xander said frustrated. Him, Willow, and Oz were all sitting at a table in the library. Xander paced back and forth. Willow went over to him.
"I'm sure she is ok Xander."

Cordelia woke up finally to find herself in a bed with white sheets all over it. She wasn't in a hospital. She looked around at the room. She recognized it.
"Hello pet. I'm glad you've finally decided to wake up."
Cordelia looked to see Spike.Ohmigod. I'm at Spike's place!
